Yole Developpement updated its MicroLED industry IP landscape report, and the company presented some interesting findings.
The number of MicroLED patents is now over 8,900, filed by almost 480 organizations. 40% of the patent families have been published in 2020.
The leading companies by pending applications are BOE, LG and Samsung, with CSoT not far behind. It is interesting to see that some companies have gained many early patents (Apple, AUO, X-Celeprint / XDc) but are not filing as many new patents as other companies.
