Mojo Vision lit up its first 300 mm GaN-On-Silicon blue microLED wafer

AR microLED microdisplay developer Mojo Vision announced that it has achieved a process milestone and has lit-up its first 300 mm GaN-on-Silicon blue microLED array wafer. The company says it is on track to maturing its 300 mm CMOS fab process.

Mojo Vision is developing microdisplays based on blue LEDs and quantum dots color conversion. The company developed the world's highest density microLEDs, achieve up to 28,000 PPI (sub-micron LEDs).

 

Mojo Vision recently raised $22.4 million in new Series A funding to accelerate its development and commercialization efforts. 

Mojo Vision started as a smart contact lens developer, and raised over $200 million to develop several technologies, including a very high density microdisplay and its QD color conversion technology and materials. In early 2022 Mojo Vision announced that it has raised $45 million in its Series B-1 round,. In 2023, the company laid of most of its employees, decelerated developing the contact lenses and focused almost entirely on the microLED microdisplay.
