On September 24-26, the inaugural MicroLED-Connect event took place in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. It was an extremely successful event, with attendees, speakers and exhibitors from all over the world there to discuss the latest microLED innovations and updates. It is clear that there's much interest and driving force behind the microLED industry.
MicroLED-Connect hosted over 40 speakers and 8 masterclasses, providing a wealth of information by leading display makers and supply chain companies, researchers, material makers, market analysts, investors, application developers, and more. The agenda included speakers from Google, Meta, TCL CSoT, KAUST, JCDecaux, CEA/Leti, GlobalFoundries, Aixtron, Continental, Applied Materials, imec.Xpand, VueReal, ALLOS and many more.

Google's AR views and strategy
Dr. Bernard C. Kress, the 2023 SPIE president and the director of optical engineering and AR hardware at Google, gave an excellent lecture, detailing Google's views on AR hardware, what really matters to potential consumers and the industry's transition from LCoS to microLED based solutions:
Intlvac - Indium bump deposition system
Intlvac is a US-based company that designs and manufactures customized systems for thin film PVD and etching. Intlvac supplied several systems to microLED developers and system designers. The company's R&D manager, Michaël Chesaux, shared the company's 'bumpy' journey, from its first microLED system development in 2015, through its first system sale in 2016, to its latest technology and patents in this area.
Omdia - the latest microLED industry update
Jerry Kang, research manager at Omdia, gave the Company's latest update on the microLED industry, detailing the different routes and achievements of display makers (such as AUO, BOE, and others), the latest prototypes, Apple's smartwatch project, the latest microLED microdisplays, and more:
