NS Nanotech reports the fabrication of submicron native-red nanowire microLEDs with EQE of 8%

NS Nanotech announced that its researchers from the University of Michigan, led by the company's co-founder Prof. Zetian Mi, has developed a native red sub-micron microLED device with an EQE of over 8%. The company says that this is the world's most efficient submicron-scale LED.

NS Nanotech has an exclusive license to commercialize prof. Zetian's LED technology and technologies developed at McGill University. The company grows unique nanowire LEDs using MBE technology.

Mojo Vision details its microLED microdisplay technology

Last month AR developer Mojo Vision announced that as it finds it challenging to raise more funds, it is changing its focus to develop its microLED display technology, and canceling its smart contact lens system R&D project.

A couple of years ago, Mojo Vision announced that it has developed a 14,000 PPI monochrome (green) microLED microdisplay, that is the world's highest density microdisplay. The company now updated its website, which says that its technology can reach up to 28,000 PPI.

InZiv Ships MicroLED Characterization Equipment

Israel-based display characterization and inspection equipment maker InZiv has recently announced the shipment of a high-resolution pixel characterization tool to an undisclosed Tier-1 consumer electronics company.

InZiv's tool offers MicroLED defect detection on the wafer and pixel level with unprecedented sub-micron resolutions. Measuring luminescence, spectral wavelengths and 3D structure at the highest resolutions, the equipment enables the identification and the source of defects, accelerating product time to market.
